What Is A Crystal?

What is a Crystal?

I’ve always loved pretty rocks, but it wasn’t until I met my amazing soul mate  who I found out on our second date that he was also an avid gem collector that I began to seriously research crystals and now our collective love for these stones has grown to us combining and growing our own collection and bringing them to this website and blog that I am sharing with you.

So let’s start at the beginning.

All matter has energy. You have an energy and so do I. Each unit of matter vibrates with its own unique energetic blueprint. This energetic blueprint determines the way that the energy is directed physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

A blueprint of a crystal is a regularly repeating atomic structure and because crystals exhibit this type of orderly perfection, they are able to transmit various levels of light and energy.  People use these tools to bring healing light and loving encouragement to all beings as their perfect form are a great match for the balance and perfection that humans search for in their own lives.  Crystals can absorb and transmit light, refract it among other crystalline structures, and then transmit it to a receiving source. These nature made stones have the natural ability to conduct energy and carry light.  How amazing is our God for creating such awesome support for us here on earth!?!

Indeed, everything that God created was beautifully and perfectly made, including wo/man. We are created to have total dominion over all of God’s creations, the trees and plants, the animals and the nature including the countless precious elements found in our surroundings, such as crystals and gemstones.

Crystals are also called stones, rocks, and commonly referred to as gemstones. A gemstone can be described and distinguished as being a precious or semi-precious. From biblical times until now, precious gemstones serve as accessories and adornment, and could sometimes determine one’s social status in life. While these gemstones such as the diamonds and emeralds are subdivided according to varieties and groups and sometimes, according to their species, they come in a variety of colors, shapes and properties.  The difference in each gems is how the atoms are arranged.

Despite its beauty and glamour a gemstone can bring, there are also many synthetic or fake stones on the market today. Like essential oils, marketers can contaminate the product and claim that it is natural.  That is why today, experts have become rigid in identifying true gemstones. These gemologists or gemstones experts have the skills to easily determine a piece of beauty that is fake or unreal. The crystals and essential oils available at are from reliable sources, as we use these products everyday! The crystals available on this site have been carefully selected to ensure purity and authenticity using some of the highest standards you will find online today.

Bringing a crystal into your energetic field helps your own energy align with the harmonic and perfect structure of the crystal.  Some crystals are known to exhibit specific properties.  The explanations of the properties for each of the stones sold here are stated and you can also email with any questions.

The general rule is that if a stone calls your attention, you are meant to have and benefit from that stones energy.

Go ahead and browse our inventory and see what calls out to you!

Do not fall victim to ignorance.  Here is a brief list of what  crystals are NOT!

  • Crystals are not a replacement for your relationship with God
  • Crystals are not a replacement of your medical doctor
  • Crystals are not to be used for any “dark” purpose

Creating A Stress-Free Environment At Home

One of the first things to do, when you want to remove stress from your life, is to create a healing environment at home. It is a well-known fact that stress affects both your physical and emotional well-being. So, to feel your best, you need to remove the negativity associated with the stress. In most cases, the negativity is something that has been there a while, and you have built up a tolerance or conditioned response to it.  The good news is… it’s not as difficult as you may think to make a change. Keep reading to learn more.

Let’s face it, a healthy environment makes you feel safe and helps to eliminate feelings of sadness, worry and helplessness. It is void of noise and confusion, which, over the long term, can lead to a long list of health problems.  You may not be able to control all of the environments you encounter every day, but it is critical that you learn how to manage your own personal environment.  The place where you lay your head, or take a bath.  Consider the following tips to help you get started.

The Effects of Stress

There are good reasons to avoid stress.  Studies show that depression and chronic stress accelerates aging, see the study here.

Researchers also found that healthy adults who were mistreated as children may have a higher inflammatory response to new stressors. See the study in Neuropsychoparmacology, published online 29 September 2010.

Research has also found that stress-activating factors can turn on certain genes that were supposed to be silenced.  The findings show that the protective complexes are lost, and selected genes turn on when cells are exposed to external stress factors. See the study here.

Now that you are clear on the importance of managing stress.

Let’s talk specifics.

Your Overall Goal

Your overall goal is to create a nurturing (and therapeutic) space, filled things you love, or fulfills you or gives you great memories or thoughts. Doing so promotes spiritual growth and self-healing. Ideally, this works best if you have space that you can also use as your own special haven. This is a matter of  simply create multiple “mini spaces” throughout your home.

Eliminate Clutter

Have you ever tried to completely relax in a room full of clutter? It’s almost impossible to do, isn’t it? Get rid of things you no longer use. Give these things to charity or have a garage sale. The rule of thumb is:  if you are legally required to keep it, and if it doesn’t bring you joy, then get rid of it!

Utilize Color

Certain colors affect the way you feel. So if you can, you might consider repainting your space. You can either go with a color that automatically makes you happy or choose one known to invoke a positive response. Be aware that the color red typically causes an invigorating, energetic or agitating reaction and whereas blue has the (opposite) calming effect.

More Ideas

There are so many additional things that you can do to create a healing environment in your home. They include:

  • candles or a fireplace
  • aromatherapy (lavender is particularly calming)
  • water fountain or aquarium
  • live plants and flowers (many have air purifying benefits)
  • healing stones and crystals
  • natural  lighting options
  • family photos
  • writing and journaling tools

Quite honestly, the possibilities are endless. If you find it relaxing to read a good book, think about creating a reading corner. On the other hand, if you love to fix things, the ideal healing environment might be a workspace in the garage. The choice is up to you!

Now that you know more about creating a healthy environment at home, what are you waiting for? Remember, you don’t have to complete the project overnight. The idea is to reduce stress, and bring out more healing vibes. This is something that can be done on an ongoing basis. There’s nothing wrong with creating a relaxing environment that is a “work in progress.” I’ve gone from relaxing work spaces to an outright yoga room.

I’ll be offering a course within the next month about cleansing and de-stressing your home. Stay tuned and sign up for the newsletter to be alerted when it launches.

In love and health!

Using Crystals + Stones for Everyday Help

How Crystals Help

Crystals are matter.  You already know from your high school science class that all  matter is energy and has its own energetic blueprint. Including your body! The blueprint of a crystal is a regularly repeating atomic structure that is symmetrically perfect. Their structure gives them the capability to absorb, transmit and transform light and energy.

(if you want to see a cool crystal transmitting experiment check here ) What an amazing God to give us this tremendous gift, right under our noses!

Bringing crystals into your environment can help you create order, transmit light, bring balance, harmony and unity for yourself and the people you influence. The ultimate goal is for your crystal companion to help you realign and redirect your physical, emotional and mental energy returning you to a state of balance and wholeness.  As you will learn when you start this journey, this is an ongoing love affair that just gets better with time.

Think of all of the stresses you go through in a given week. The challenges you face as a parent, spouse, wife, daughter, sister, friend, employee, business owner or even as a homeowner.

Crystals can help us focus our energy and grounds us allowing us to focus on creating positive outlook, and sustainable change in our lives.

We carry them as reminders of our focus, mission or healing purpose.  You can also use their colors as needed therapy to help calm, reorient or direct your energy toward a specific goal or purpose.  For example, have you every held a beautiful Angelite stone?  Heavenly!  Angelite represents peace and helps you connect with your higher purpose and provides emotional protection, and is known as a balancer and is said to support the circulatory system.  People also use Angelite for healing of speaking anxieties or to aid in communication. Some of us believe in Angels and use Angelite stones to support our communication with these lovely beings!

Of course crystals aren’t meant to replace God, your husband, boyfriend, your kids or your friends.  They certainly are a wonderful addition to your beautiful environment.  Making things more vibrant, alive, and aesthetically pleasing as you do the work to bring about your life’s purpose.

Selecting your Crystal Companion

First of all, when you are looking to buy a crystal; think of the reason why you want it.  Do you want a crystal for a specific reason? Do you want something calming, energizing or do you want to feel a certain way with the crystal?

Smell them. A strong smell given off by a stone is an indication that there has been an application of coatings or coloring to enhance the stone.  Some chemicals can weaken or dampen the energy of the stone, so be sure you trust your source.

Check for irradiation. Considered the worst artificial treatment process, this is used to remove imperfections and bring out the color. Unfortunately, this causes the energy of the gems or crystals to become weak, or non existent.

Check for bad dye jobs.  Not all coloring of crystals are bad, some coloring brings out beautiful inclusions in a stone. Irresponsible dyeing of stones result in a weakened energy state of the stone, that will result in uneven color application or color that is easily rubbed off.

Also avoid those that look too beautiful to be true. There are fakes crystals and gemstones everywhere. Be sure you are getting your stone from a knowledgeable or reliable source.

Identify the 3 C’s. Clarity, cut, and color. These are the most important characteristics you should check out. If you don’t know how, just ask.

Ask questions or research. It never hurts to always ask about the crystals and gemstones. I love sharing information about crystals and will add more details to this blog in the near future.
